Macarena Gutiérrez
CEO, Atlantic Copper

Macarena Gutiérrez holds a degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Business Management (PDD) from IESE. She began her professional career in 1993 at Arthur Andersen (now Deloitte) in Madrid, where she worked in audit services, mainly for companies in the industrial and services sectors.

Since April 2025, she has served as Chief Executive Officer of Atlantic Copper, a subsidiary of the U.S.-based mining group Freeport-McMoRan. She joined the company in 1997 as Controller and progressively took on responsibilities in Human Resources, Communications, and Information Systems, eventually reaching her current position as CEO.

Since 2022, she has been an Independent Director at DKV Seguros, where she chairs both the Appointments and Remuneration Committee and the Audit Committee. She is also a board member of Fortia and has served on the boards of several startups in the real estate and technology sectors.

She has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Atlantic Copper Foundation since its establishment in 2009 and of the DKV Integralia Foundation since 2023.

In addition, she is a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts (Andalusia chapter) and serves on the boards of FEIQUE and the Andalusian Business Confederation (CEA). She was a member of the Executive Committee of the Elcano Royal Institute for 15 years and has participated in various committees of European Metals.

Strongly committed to promoting female talent, she is a member of IWF and Womenalia. In 2022, she was recognized as one of the 100 most influential women in mining worldwide and received the Womenvalue Award from Inversión magazine.

She is married and mother of three daughters.
